Regal Cinemas running a Die Hard marathon

Say what you want about the digitization of film, but digital distribution has one really fantastic benefit: it makes movie marathons in theaters incredibly easy. Before if a chain theater wanted to run a marathon there was no way it was cost prohibitive, but with downloadable films and digital projections we get crazy movie marathons on massive screens across the country. Next up is Die Hard.

With the release of the fifth Die Hard film this February Regal Cinemas has announced that they will be running all five films back to back on Feb. 13 (or possibly Feb. 12 going into midnight on Feb. 13). Full details, most likely meaning the ability to buy tickets, aren’t out yet as they’re coming on Friday. If there is a series that would be easy to watch in one sitting I think it might be Die Hard. Each film is strangely different enough from the previous one and while they vary in quality you can’t say any are boring.
