Renee Zellweger directs Johnny Knoxville in 4 1/2 Minutes

Here’s a sentence that makes me not want to see this movie: Renee Zellweger will make her directorial debut with 4 1/2 Minutes, which she will star in along with Johnny Knoxville. I actually don’t think I could describe a film I’m less interested in. I didn’t realize it until I wrote that sentence, but that is the least interesting film ever.

The only redeeming factor is the story is based off Dov Davidoff’s real life. Knoxville will take on the role of a comedian who takes on a job taking care of Zellweger’s genius son as his life falls apart.

I know I shouldn’t pre-judge, and if this turns out to be the dramedy(?) of the year I’m going to look really dumb, but this just sounds like a train wreck waiting to happen. The movie is currently being shopped around at the Toronto Film Festival and aims to shoot in February. With the names attached I’m pretty sure it will get made, but I’m not sure it should.
