Ridley Scott makes the trek to Reykjavik

Get ready for Ridley Scott’s most exciting, visually creative film since Blade Runner. Nah, I’m just screwing with you. Scott has been attached to direct Reykjavik, a historical drama about the infamous summit in Reykjavik between US President Ronald Regan and Soviet Premier Mikhail “You got something on your head” Gorbachev. Students of history will recognize this as a meeting that was one of the biggest stepping stones towards the end of the Cold War. So you can blame this movie for why Tom Clancy’s books have sucked for so long.

Scott is currently shooting his not-an-Alien-prequel Prometheus, and he has not announced his next project. He’s officially attached to a bunch of different projects, including an adaptation of Philip K. Dick’s The Man in the High Castle that has the potential to make Geoff and I soil our jeans. So once Prometheus is in the can, we’ll probably find out then what his next move is.
