Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World gets first trailer

The kidnapping of John Paul Getty III has somewhat faded into the annals of history, but when it happened is was probably the biggest story in the world. The kidnapping was obviously major news, but Getty’s grandfather, at the time the richest man ever, refusal to pay the ransom was what made it kind of insane. It’s the perfect subject matter for Ridley Scott to tackle in All the Money in the World, especially so we can all wash the taste of Alien: Covenant.

Scott has always been skilled at tense dramas, and since his science fiction stuff has been falling flat I think a return to them should work out for the best. He made this movie damn quickly, though. He shot the movie this year and its already hitting theaters. Guessing he really wanted to get this in for the Awards season since Spacey is probably gunning for a nomination with his turn as the elder Getty.
