RoboCop remake release date pushed to 2014

I’ll admit I’ve been giving José Padilha’s RoboCop remake a pretty hard time, especially in the costume department, but I never wished ill on the director or his film. In fact, from the get-go it seems like production has had its fair share of ups and downs, and I have only wished for the best in hopes that my doubts could be laid to rest. Alas, I’m still perched firmly on the fence, and it seems I’m going to have to wait some time before I gaze upon the reincarnation of the titular cybernetic officer.

Without reason or warning RoboCop has been delayed from its original release date of August 9th, 2013 to February 7th, 2014. That’s a pretty substantial schedule change, especially without being given any reason as to why it’s occurred. Is there trouble on set? Is it strictly to have enough time for post-production? I wish I knew the answer, but I guess I’ll have to continue sitting in the dark, mocking the movie to mask my anxiety over it because I am so very insecure when it comes to reboots, and for good reason I’m sure you’ll agree. Let’s just hope the extra time will give Padilha what he needs to make the best damn RoboCop possible.
