Get your rumor caps on and keep the blastshields down, kids.

There are rumors that Ewan McGregor is in negotiations with Disney to return as Obi-Wan Kenobi for the new glut of Star Wars movies that are coming out. Obi-Wan would not appear as a blue Jedi ghost, though. Instead, McGregor would be portraying Obi-Wan in a story that takes place between Episode III and and Episode IV. (Spoiler: He turns into Alec Guinness in the end!)

Over at Nerdist, they mentioned that Darth Maul is still alive after being chopped in half as revealed by the canonical Clone Wars cartoon (“Tis but a scratch!”) and might be Obi-Wan’s foil for this new story. Maul might even say something.

Nothing’s final yet and this is all just speculation, but it would be interesting to see McGregor (i.e., the one good thing in the prequels) return. Just watch out for those toilets in Mos Eisley, dude.

Sign’s there for a reason.
