Rumor: James Franco to star in Akira adaptation

0

We’ve reported quite a bit on the the live-action adaptation of beloved manga/anime Akira. Likewise, we’ve reported quite a bit on James Franco and the slew of roles he’s been offered. It’s only right that on this day, the two would intertwine.

After an array of casting rumors ranging from Leonardo DiCaprio, Zac Efron and even Morgan Freeman,  the rumor now is that James Franco is set to take the main role as Kaneda in the Albert Hughes adaptation. Though Franco has a total of 7 projects lined up, JustJared reports that the most sought out actor in Hollywood is in talks and that it’s only a matter of time.

Though I would love to see Franco take on the role, I highly doubt this will actually happen. Between going to Yale, teaching a class on himself, returning to General Hospital, hosting the Oscars and taking on a slew of roles ranging from a Linda Lovelace biopic to a Planet of the Apes sequel, I really don’t know how he finds the time to do anything. I only hope we don’t see too much of Franco i.e. what happened to Jude Law.
