Russell Crowe is going to play Jor-El, father to Kal-El (Clark Kent) in Zach Synder’s Superman reboot, Man of Steel. Crowe’s casting is seen to serve as an homage to the original Superman film, playing the cameo role that Marlon Brando played in Richard Donner’s 1978 film. Crowe joins a cast made up of relative unknown Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, and Michael Shannon.
Keep note that they’re casting for extras in the Chicagoland area for Man of Steel. Maybe you’ll luck out and get into a fun conversation with Crowe about hot dogs and whether he likes them bare or in buns. It is Chicago, after all.[via Variety]
