Sandler’s Ridiculous 6 has a trailer and it…certainly exists

Still getting by on the goodwill he earned with Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison way back when, Adam Sandler just won’t quit. His next at-bat is The Ridiculous 6, a Western “comedy” that appears to be at least in part a spoof of The Magnificent Seven, only not quite as funny. Netflix is threatening to add this to its streaming service this holiday season, and to prove they’re not messing around this time, they’ve released a trailer for the film, making us forget how happy they made us last week when they showed us that cool Jessica Jones trailer.

The Ridiculous 6 is the first of a multi-picture deal between Sandler and Netflix, and has already caused considerable controversy considering it’s a movie that stars Adam Sandler in the year 2015. Most reading this are probably at least vaguely aware of how that unfolded – the film had several Native American cast and crew members who very publicly walked off set earlier this year, saying the film was racially insensitive (which, let’s be real, is probably exactly on the money). That will certainly get that one racist uncle you try to avoid at Thanksgiving watching. If nothing else, it probably can’t be much worse than A Million Ways to Die in the West.

If Sandler’s output in the last…oh, 500 years is any indication, this movie is going to be a pile of hot garbage, even if it is a pile of hot garbage you end up watching some cold December night because you don’t have anything better to do. If you want to preview that very sad night for yourself, check out the trailer below:

The Ridiculous 6 also stars Terry Crews, Luke Wilson, Jorge Garcia (aw, man, not you too, Hurley), Taylor Lautner and pretty much everyone else who’s ever existed; the movie hits Netflix on Dec. 11.
