Saw screenwriters writing a Disney movie

I can tell you one thing: when I think of the the Saw franchise I think of Disney. No wait. That’s the opposite of what happens. But a screenwriter doesn’t have to be pigeonholed into one genre as writers Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, who wrote Saw IV, V, VI and VII along with some other horror films, have signed on to pen Disney’s The Stuff of Legends

The film was originally set to be written by Shawn Christensen (Abduction), but he’s out now due to some other conflicts so the two horror/comedy scribes are in. They’ll be adapting the screenplay from the graphic novel of the same name, which involves a group of toys fighting an unseen war to save their owner from the stuff of nightmares. It sounds like Toy Story, but with a touch more darkness to it so maybe that’s why Melton and Dunstan were brought in. Hopefully this means we’ll get a more adult leaning animation from the film.
