Scream 5 five almost assured to happen

Oh, my apologies. It’s probably going to be called 5cream. I’ll refer to it as that from now on.

So, we all know that Scream 4 didn’t really do as well as was hoped in the box office department. Yes, it made it’s money back and then some, but it really didn’t catch like they thought it would. Hell, the talk was that it as the beginning of a whole new trilogy of Scream movies. However, not bringing in the dollars or re-elevating the franchise probably finished those hopes off, right?

Wrong. Wes Craven is pretty confident a fifth film will be happening. “Yes,” the director confirmed when asked about a fifth film. “The odds are that there will be (a 5cream). It is something that Bob Weinstein wants to do. He tends to do what he wants to do. So I am inclined to think that there will be (another sequel).”

He went on to say that he wasn’t sure if he’d be involved or not, but that he has first look at the film and if he likes what he sees he’d gladly jump on board. Craven also explained that 5 and 6 are already mapped out and he does know where the franchise is headed. The real question is do we still want it to head anywhere?
