By Sequels to stand alone classics are almost never a good idea but we’re getting one yet again with Doctor Sleep, a sequel to The Shining. In fairness, this one is actually based on a sequel that Stephen King wrote to his novel and so has some excuse for existing but Stanley Kubrick’s horror classic isn’t really something that needed a second film. It will be interesting to see how the film merges King’s novel and the drastically different film.
