Seriously, an Ouija board movie is a thing.

Ugh.

So, there’s been rumblings of a Ouija board movie for a year or two now. It’s one of those things you read and know in your heart of hearts that it’s some stupid thing a random executive thought would be “cute” to make. Then you don’t hear about it for a while, and you mercifully forget it. Now, however, the Ouija Board movie (italics added for emphasis on the lunacy of it all) is close to acquiring a director. Who is it? None other than Pierre Morel, director of Taken, one of the better action movies of the past few years. On top of that, an article on SlashFilm from producer Brad Fuller described the prospective project as “more of a, like, Pirates of the Caribbean adventure story, with an Ouija board at the center of it.”

On top of all that crap, the writers of Tron: Legacy, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are tapped to write the script, although they supposedly are very late in turning it in. Maybe there’s hope for this abortion to disappear after all.
