Shia Labeouf to play a 20-foot-tall man-child

With Shia Labeouf apparently out of the forthcoming Transformers sequels — to be replaced by Jason Statham — he may be pursuing a different role: that of a 20-foot-tall giant in a quirky love story.
The movie’s working title is A Giant, and is being developed by Gil Kenan (Monster House, City of Ember.) A Giant is unfortunately not a prequel or sequel to My Giant, which starred Billy Crystal and NBA tall guy Gheorghe Mureşan. (In a perfect world, though…) Rather, the movie will focus on a girl who’s had bad luck in life and love. When she moves back home to reconnect with her brother, she winds up striking up a rapport with the 20-foot giant man-child who lives next door.
This seems like the kind of role that would have been perfect for Brian Posehn, though Labeouf does have more draw power at the box office. In a perfect world, though…

This seems like the kind of role that would be perfect for Brian Posehn, Patton Oswalt, Nick Frost, or any other dorky yet likable actor/comedian, though LaBeouf does have more draw power at the box office. In a perfect world, though…
