Sly Cooper movie gets plot and teaser

Sly Cooper Movie - Official Teaser Trailer

They’re amping up the buzz for the Sly Cooper movie pretty darn early with a full teaser animation that shows off the new look for the entire crew. Looks like the same style of humor will be in full force with bad puns galore and plenty of food jokes. This “short” pretty much could be mistaken for a cut scene in the game if it wasn’t for the sharper animation and tweaks to character design.

Sly himself looks a bit more conniving in his new, more mature style and the pink of Murray’s skin has definitely been toned down a bit. Of course, playing out like a cut scene from a videogame isn’t always that great of an endorsement. While the animation does look pretty solid, the voice acting could use a little work. Still, seeing Sly jump around with his cane isn’t something I’m going to want to miss once the movie lands in 2016.

You can check out the official plot description below along with some new images. The plot, like the teaser, doesn’t seem to deviate much from the first game.

Sly Cooper is a kinetic and comedic heist film that tells the story of Sly Cooper, an orphaned raccoon thief, along with his childhood friends and partners in crime, Bentley Turtle and Murray Hippo. In the film, Sly learns of his birth family’s secret legacy; that he comes from a long line of talented and international thieves. Endowed with this knowledge, Sly and his friends are catapulted into a global adventure as they race to reassemble pieces of an ancient book holding The Cooper Clan’s family secrets before it can fall into the hands of Clockwerk – an evil Russian metallic owl bent on ending the Cooper family line. From romantic Parisian backdrops to the lush mountains of China, gritty film noir meets bright, colorful graphic novels in this origin story of the world’s greatest thief-turned-hero.
