Sororal is the first ever Australian giallo

If anyone reading this doesn’t know what a giallo is, you should immediately check out Blood And Black Lace; The Bird With The Crystal Plumage; Deep Red; Black Belly Of The Tarantula and Your Vice Is A Locked Room And Only I Have The Key (or any from this more extensive list). Report back when you’ve finished. Done? Excellent. You should now know why Sororal is worth keeping an eye on, an homage to the genre hailing from the distant shores of Australia. There’s no telling how the movie will actually turn out, of course, but the recently-released artwork captures the right tone. The plot synopsis, too, sounds appropriately lurid:

The film is a strange, ‘giallo’ inspired nightmare that follows a tormented and troubled young artist named Cassie, who is plagued by visions of murder and mayhem.  Her world is turned upside down when she discovers that her hallucinations are in fact real murders with real victims.

No word of a release date yet, but the movie is in the final stages of post-production. Check out a second piece of artwork in the gallery.
