Star Wars: Episode VII to take place 30 years after original saga

Along with the incredible bombshell dropped earlier today, Bob Iger dished out some nifty Star Wars: Episode VII news during the Disney shareholder’s meeting. While we should expect the real big news (such as casting, and plot) to be drip fed to us until its Christmas Day 2015 release, we at least have a general time frame for the new trilogy.

According to Iger, the new trilogy takes place 30 years after Return of the Jedi and will feature new and old faces. The rest of the production is shrouded in mystery, but at least we know they have plans to begin filming the seventh episode this May. We don’t even know the cast (other than Adam Driver), so let’s hope Disney at least knows what’s going on.
