Thanks to that cool band, Bastille, I automatically think of that extremely good “Pompeii” single when I read the word. When I was suddenly reminded Pompeii is a movie that exists during the Super Bowl, I was saddened when there wasn’t any corporate synergy going on. Nevertheless, Pompeii looks to be like your average Greek/Roman/Ancient City CG fest that’s going to be forgotten as the months roll on.
That being said, it’s a perfect February film. It looks great, sounds okay, and Kit Harington (even if he knows nothing) might hold it together. Pompeii blows the volcano wide open February 21st.
