Manasteel88 is down at SXSW and sat in on a talk that Super Trooper creators Jay Chandrasekhar and Kevin Heffernan gave after showcasing their new film The Babymakers. The duo announced that the screenplay for Super Troopers 2 was finally completed and they were looking to get the film underway with a studio.
The two were also asked about Potfest, a long rumored sequel to Broken Lizard’s Beerfest, becoming a real thing, but said that the entire thing had been a joke for the end of Beerfest. However, while there are no plans to make the actual film they did get interest in it from the liked of Ceech Marin, Woody Nelson and Snoop Dogg. Why to play into stereotypes folks.
I must say that, while Broken Lizard’s recent fare has been nothing but sub-par, I’d be happy to see them make another movie that is actually funny. When these guys hit, they hit well.
