SXSW announces films in the Midnighters

0

One of my favorite parts about any big film festival is the collection of atypical films you’ll find on the slate. Such is the case with South by Southwest’s “Midnighters” section, which features ten “scary, funny, sexy, controversial” films, most of which are world premieres. Pretty much everything on the list sounds pretty freaking awesome, and it breaks my heart that I won’t be in Austin this year to see them there. But I wanted to highlight one film in particular: Ted Geoghegan’s We Are Still Here.

Ted’s a great guy and publicist who has convinced me to watch some awesome films and some not-so-great ones. Now he’s got a directorial debut, and I look forward to eviscerating it when I finally get a chance to see the final result. (Just kidding. (Maybe. (If it deserves it.))) Since posting this, Deadline has released a teaser trailer for the film. It looks pretty darn good.

Anyways, especially if you live in the Austin area, you should head below for more information about that film and everything else on the slate. For the rest of us… we’ll just have to wait and hope they get wide releases.
