By As you can see from the above trailer for Takashi Miike’s Ninja Kids!!!, it is already awesome. Apparently after the recent New York Asian Film Festival, Miike has been in talks with Hollywood studios for an American remake and re-release. Obviously, this doesn’t need to happen.
Ninja Kids!!! is already the cutest, most over-the-top and most wholeheartedly Japanese thing I’ve seen all year, and it’s wonderful like that. To rip this movie from it’s Japanese cultural roots would probably ruin it. Besides, we don’t need anymore movies about white suburban kids pretending to be ninja masters, that genre was perfected in the ’90s.
