Quentin Tarantino, a filmmaker of little note, released his top 20 films of the year today. There are a lot of the same top film choices we’ve been seeing the past two months, but there are also some genuine, and, frankly, puzzling, surprises. Check it all out below the cut!

1.Toy Story 3
2. The Social Network
3. Animal Kingdom
4. I Am Love
5. Tangled
6. True Grit
7. The Town
8. Greenberg
9. Cyrus
10. Enter the Void (“Hands down best credit scene of the year … Maybe best credit scene of the decade. One of the greatest in cinema history.” QT)
11. Kick-Ass
12. Knight and Day
13. Get Him to the Greek
14. The Fighter
15. The King's Speech
16. The Kids Are All Right
17. How to Train Your Dragon
18. Robin Hood
19. Amer
20. Jackass 3-D

If this wasn’t Tarantino, the list would be invalidated by the presence of Get Him to the Greek and Robin Hood, which accounted for  four of the most exhaustingly boring hours of my 2010. Also, having only seen the aforementioned credit sequence of Enter the Void, it seemed an appropriate choice for a header video.

Also, I’m so happy that How to Train Your Dragon is getting the love it deserves. It’s a close race between Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon for my top animated films this year.

How did QT’s thoughts follow your own?
