Tetris is really getting a movie

Never, ever underestimate Hollywood’s love of a brand. They’ll take even the most plotless thing in the world and make a movie out of it. Well, now they’ve found an even more plotless thing. Tetris is getting a movie. No, not some fan made thing. An actual movie.

Threshold Entertainment is producing the live-action, epic science fiction movie and it’s coming from producer Lawrence (Larry) Kasanoff who made the Mortal Kombat films back in the 90s. What’s this movie going to be about? Well, not anthropomorphic lines. That’s for sure.

“This isn’t a movie with a bunch of lines running around the page,” Kasanoff said, while disappointing all line enthusiats. “We’re not giving feet to the geometric shapes.” Unfortunately, he wouldn’t elaborate anymore except to hint that if it succeeds we’ll be seeing a lot more of the property.
