Thanos will be in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers 2

To go along with other “feels so good to be confirmed” news from Marvel, we’ve got a confirmation straight from Thanos’s creator (and the dude who owns the rights) Jim Starlin that Thanos is going to show his Death lovin’, Infinity Glove wearin’, wrinkly purple mug in Untitled Marvel’s Avengers Sequel, the oddly Mexican food themed titled sequel to the super blockbuster, The Avengers.

While that may not seem like “breaking news” because Thanos was teased in the secret tag after the credits, it at least confirms that Thanos is most likely not just going to cameo again. The more important news though is that Thanos is also making an appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy. In speaking with Cosmic Book News, Jim Starlin revealed that a deal is in place for Thanos to appear in both films. While the capacity in which Thanos will appear is still in the air, this is a great leap forward. Since Thanos is the supreme cosmic threat in the Marvelverse, it only makes sense for him to take on a talking raccoon and a tree.

I think someone needs to pinch me to make sure I’m awake. We’re getting a Guardians of the Galaxy movie directed by James Gunn, and Ant-Man directed by Edgar Wright, and more Avengers goodness from Joss Whedon for the next several years? I sincerely hope I don’t die from obesity before all of this goes down.
