The 2015 Tribeca Film Festival kicks off tonight here in New York City (aka the city that rarely sleeps and only does so with the assistance of illegally obtained medication).

This year’s festival opens with the world premiere of Live from New York!, a documentary on the 40-year history of Saturday Night Live. After the screening, a performance by Ludacris. Possible guest appearance by Andy Samberg as Blizzard Man? We can only hope.

In addition to the opening night hootenanny, there are many more notable events and screenings, including a conversation between Stephen Colbert and George Lucas, a 40th anniversary screening of Monty Python and the Holy Grail with the surviving Pythons in attendance, a 25th anniversary screening of GoodFellas followed by a cast and crew Q&A moderated by Jon Stewart, and the world premiere of the new Arnold Schwarzenegger movie Maggie.

Alec Kubas-Meyer and I will be covering the festival, so keep an eye out for reviews, features, and videos over the next two weeks or so. If you see us around the festival, please say hello. We are so, so lonely.
