The Apocalypse gets picked up by Sony, loses 75% of title

Back in October of last year, we learned that not only will the short trailer Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse would be turned into a feature length film, but the likes of Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, James Franco and Danny McBride would star along Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen as they essentially play themselves in an L.A. apocalypse scenario. Today, as reported by First Showing, Sony Pictures is currently in negotiations to finance and distribute the project. Written and directed by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the film has been described as a really offensive vision of the apocalypse in which hollywood cameo appearances would be reduced to the role of corpses.

In other apocalypse news, the title of the film has also been reportedly chopped down from Jay and Seth vs the Apocalypse to the simple title of The Apocalypse … perhaps to cut costs already.
