The art of Christmas stop motion is back thanks to The Predator

The Predator | Holiday Short Teaser Trailer | 20th Century FOX

Stop motion Christmas specials are an iconic part of holiday entertainment. The stop motion TV special is probably the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Rudolph. However there haven’t been any new entries to the collection in quite a long time. Well, that’s all about to change next week thanks to The Predator Stop-Motion Holiday Special.

The recently released teaser shows that it’s pretty much exactly what you already think it is. An idealistic North Pole is disrupted by a predator who is hunting for reindeer and elves. It also incorporates the macho, gun firing action of the series, but with Arnold Schwarzenegger being swapped out for Blitzen.

The special is airing December 19th on Comedy Central during an episode of Bojack Horseman. That will be one day after The Predator sees a home release. That’s an excellent way to remind people about the movie, and also a great way to get people to actually watch a Netflix original series on TV instead of just watching it whenever they want without commercials.
