The Avengers is back in theaters for one week only

Starting today, The Avengers returns to theaters in a big way for one week only. If you’re one of the few people who hasn’t seen the movie yet and you don’t want to wait for the DVD/Blu-Ray release on September 25th, here’s your chance to finally check out the film.

This is also a chance for The Avengers‘s box office to climb. As of now, the movie has grossed $1.49 billion worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing film of all time behind Titanic ($2.18 billion) and Avatar ($2.78 billion). With the combined the grosses of the top three films, we could create repulsor ray and uni-beam technology for real.

The Avengers rerelease was mentioned on the film’s Facebook page. The rerelease promo picture I’ve placed after the cut since it spoils the post-credits sequence. Most of you know what the image is, I’d imagine, but it’s just a courtesy for the 28 people reading this who haven’t seen The Avengers yet. Yeah, I’m talking to you, Jasper Anvil. (If there’s an actual Jasper Anvil reading this, sorry for freaking you out, and you have a fine name.)
