By The poster for the upcoming Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake is fairly risque. In fact, the header image is about the limit of what I can post of it without worrying about offending someone’s delicate sensibilities. After all, seeing tits is the worst thing you can do. I heard a guy saw, like, half a boob once when he was 10. He grew up to be Adolf Hitler.
This poster has created some controversy amongst die-hard fans of the books and of the character of Lisbeth Salander, played by Rooney Mara in the film. Melissa Silverstein at IndieWire wrote a rather fabulous article on the sexualization of this abused, tough-as-nails character. Me, I’m reserving my judgement for the actual film, as a single poster doesn’t speak volumes as to the character’s portrayal, but she makes a lot of good points.
