The Hobbit production may move to the UK, more delays?

First of all, the good the New Zealand actors union has ended its boycott over The Hobbit, which means they could potentially film in New Zealand. The bad the damage may have already been done, Peter Jackson is now looking to move the production to the UK according to Stuff, a New Zealand news source.

Aside from potentially losing the stunning scenery we got in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, the whole issue seems to have hit New Zealand pretty hard. 1500 film technicians recently marched in Wellington over the matter and it has even reached the point that the New Zealand Prime Minister himself, John Key, has entered the fray in hopes that he can convince Warner Bros to change their mind and stay in New Zealand. I’m all for keeping the film in New Zealand, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen one country get all worked up about one film before. Then again, it is The Hobbit.

If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s the delays this movie has had. What do you think, should they stay put or move elsewhere?
