The Life of Pi release pushed back because of The Hobbit

Nobody wants to compete with The Hobbit’s opening weekend, for obvious reasons. Especially Ang Lee and his upcoming adaption of the beloved book, The Life of Pi. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will release on December 14th 2012, while The Life of Pi‘s new release date is a week later on December 21st 2012.

The Life of Pi tells the story of a young boy, Pi, who lives in India where his parents own a zoo. Eventually his parents decide to sell the zoo and ship many of its animals to other zoos across the globe and move their family to Canada. Long story short, Pi ends up stuck on a tiny raft . . . with a tiger. Named Richard Parker. And it’s awesome. Here’s hoping the release date change works out for the best!
