The Mandalorian returns in Fall 2020

Acclaimed writer and director Jon Favreau has announced that The Mandalorian will return in Fall of 2020. We’ve known for some time that a second season has been in the works, but we didn’t have a release window before today.

The tweet doesn’t tell us much about the story of Season 2. All we see is a picture of what looks like a Gamorrean, one of the pig-people from Return of the Jedi. There is no other context. It’s safe to assume that the majority of the main cast will reprise their roles. And if Disney doesn’t want to see the people rise up against them, Baby Yoda will undoubtedly return as well.

I am very pleased to hear this. This show is a massive production, so I feared that it would be more than a year before we see more episodes. Here’s hoping the next season takes a deeper dive into the mythology and cultures of the galaxy. Personally, I’m eager to learn much more about the Mandalorians as a culture. It would be great to learn more about Baby Yoda’s species as well. Regardless, I’m sure we’ll get more thrilling action and brilliant music

Season 1 of The Mandalorian is currently streaming on Disney+.
