The Raid 3 is most likely not happening ever

The Raid and The Raid 2 are masterpieces. Literal masterpieces. They are some of the best action of any kind you will see ever. Director Gareth Evans should be directing everything. It’s a crime he’s not involved with some superhero universe. The only saving grace was that his lack of involvement meant a Raid 3 was possible, but now he himself has dashed that dream.

Speaking with Slashfilm the director laid out why we won’t be getting a third film:

The Raid 1 and 2 were incredible for me, but I just didn’t want to be doing The Raids all the time. And the more time has gone on from that, the less interested I’ve been to go back there. What we did with The Raid 2, we kinda close that off nicely, so it didn’t really appeal to me to jump back into that world again.

Fine, Gareth, you want to branch out and do other things and not be pigeon-holed. Whatever. I don’t need you or your stupid other movies.

Well, except I really want to see Apostle because it looks amazing. Just think what Evans can do in a horror setting with Dan Stevens starring. OK, fine, Gareth, you go make other movies, that’s cool.
