Appearing to be one part Suspiria (new and old!) and one part Stephen King, In Fabric is the latest mysterious thriller from Peter Strickland, who’s given us the great Berberian Sound Studio and The Duke of Burgundy over recent years.
Centering around… a killer dress, Strickland’s film looks to continue his trend of classic giallo homage with a highly cerebral approach, not unlike Nicolas Roeg’s classic Don’t Look Now. In Fabric stars Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Hayley Squires, Leo Bill, and the best part of Game of Thrones, Gwendoline Christie.
With The Souvenir playing now, and The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Midsommar, and The Farewell set to hit in the coming months, A24 has a crowded summer schedule once again. More so when In Fabric releases sometime in August.
