Theatrical rerelease of Casablanca coming March 21st

Casablanca turns 70 this year. To celebrate, you have a chance to catch it on the big screen for one night only. Turner Classic Movies is hosting nationwide screenings of Casablanca on March 21st at participating theaters. The screenings will all feature TCM’s own head honcho Robert Osborne introducing the film and providing a behind-the-scenes look at the production.

Now, I get a bit wistful about Casablanca and Robert Osborne. Both remind me of a girl I dated years ago who had the grace of Ingrid Bergman mixed with the moxie of Katharine Hepburn. She used to talk about how when she felt lonely, she’d tune into TCM because Robert Osborne felt like a friend. Had I only been a little more mature things could have worked out. If she was Casablanca, at the time I was Woody Allen’s Play it Again, Sam.

You can read the full press release here, or if you’re through with that jazz, you can view a list of participating theaters here. All Casablanca screenings will begin at 7:00pm local time.
