By It may be a good long while before we see any footage out of The Hobbit, set for release in December 2012, so we’ll have to do with these pictures as our first look back into the world of J.R.R. Tolkein. In the gallery below, you’ll see the first official picture of Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, including a behind the scenes picture of Freeman getting some direction from Peter Jackson, my second favorite Kiwi. We also get a look at Sir Ian “Sexy” McKellan as Gandalf, but he’s mostly looking like the good old Gandalf the Grey I remember from The Fellowship of the Ring. Not that stiff bastard Gandalf the White. I hate that sanctimonious ass. Gandalf the Grey was cheeky and thus more awesome.
