Despite its flaws, Hot Tub Time Machine gained quite the momentum on home video. That’s usually how most of these comedy sequels work nowadays. The original is a small hit, gains cult status on home video, then is repeated so many times in syndication it becomes oddly relevant again. Hot Tub Time Machine is like those films before it, but without all of the unnecessary work of gaining a fanbase.
Most of the old crew is back (minus John Cusack), so if you’re a fan of the original maybe you’ll like this too. Hot Tub Time Machine 2 has been bumped from its Christmas Day release to February 20th. Okay then.
