By The last two important roles for 2012’s adaptation of The Hunger Games has been cast. Toby Jones will be playing Claudius Templesmith, the host of the Hunger Games. He mostly serves as an announcer, sending booming reports into the arena. It’s a minor but important role. The real news is that Lenny Kravitz has been cast as Cinna, Katniss Everdeen’s official fashion designer. Cinna creates much of the buzz surrounding Katniss early in the games by creating a dress that bursts into flames, giving Katniss the moniker of “The Girl on Fire.”
Kravitz is supposed to be very good in Precious, which I haven’t seen, and he’s certainly capable of an air of quiet cool. It’s interesting casting, to say the least. I’m anxious to see how he shapes up.
