Tracklist and details for The Master soundtrack

0

Ages ago we reported that Jonny Greenwood would be doing the score for The Master, marking the Radiohead guitarist’s second collaboration with Paul Thomas Anderson. (He previously scored There Will Be Blood.) Yesterday the full tracklist for the Master soundtrack was revealed. Alas, no samples from The Last Dragon or The Message. The soundtrack features 10 new compositions by Greenwood, an Ella Fitzgerald song, and a few other tunes that evoke the era. It will be released by Nonesuch Records on September 11th.

I’m really looking forward to hearing some of these Greenwood tracks, especially if he’s doing some eerie, expressive jazz. If you pre-order the soundtrack direct from Nonesuch, you’ll get an instant download of one of the songs on the soundtrack, “Application 45 Version 1.” I would do this right now, but I opened my wallet and a cartoon moth flew out of it.

The full tracklist and the soundtrack cover art are waiting for you after the cut. The Master will be in theaters on September 14th.
