Greek filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos is at it again. If you’ll recall, one of the first Flixist Movie Clubs was centered around the Oscar nominated foreign film Dogtooth, which was Lanthimos’ international claim to fame. This new one, Alps claims to be darker and funnier than Dogtooth. Honestly, I don’t know how darker you can get after making Dogtooth, but I’ll roll with it.
The movie is about three people who offer to stand in for recently deceased people to aid the grieving. The hell? Look for this one after it’s premiere at Venice International Film Festival, which is going on right now.[via /Film]
