Trailer: Beasts of the Southern Wild

0

Beasts of the Southern Wild was one of the most acclaimed movies at Sundance this year, scooping up two festival awards: the Grand Jury Prize for Best Dramatic Film and the Excellence in Cinematography Award. The film’s trailer recently dropped, and it looks like a stunning piece of work, with hints of Where the Wild Things Are and maybe Chris Adrian’s The Children’s Hospital. Here’s a synopsis for the film from IMDb:

Faced with her father’s fading health and environmental changes that release an army of prehistoric creatures called aurochs, six-year-old Hushpuppy leaves her Delta-community home in search of her mother.

Beasts of the Southern Wild was written and directed by first-timer Benh Zeitlin. It’ll be out in theaters on June 27th.
