I really like the idea behind Beautiful Boy. It deals with the fallout of a school shooting, from the perspective of the parents of the shooter. That’s powerful stuff, right there. Add to that that the son killed himself after murdering many of his class, and you’ve got one of the most horrible situations possible with no real explanation. I’m a little worried about the tone of this trailer, as it makes it seem a bit more inspirational than the heavy tragedy within would imply.
Nevertheless, there’s some serious talent in this movie with Michael Sheen and Maria Bello, so I’m intrigued.
