I wrote about Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey for the Fall Movie Preview, my only gripe being that there was not a trailer available yet. Clearly, documentarian Constance Marks read about my sad dilemma and decided to share a trailer with the world. Being Elmo follows Kevin Clash, the man behind Elmo, from his difficult childhood to his current position, detailing Jim Henson’s career along the way.
I can’t wait to see this. Elmo was never my favorite character on Sesame Street, but I’m fascinated by puppets and possibly super jealous of Kevin Clash for making things work as well as they have. I mean, who doesn’t want to be a puppeteer for Sesame Street? That is so cool. If you’re in New York (or Tacoma, Washington, for some reason), you’ll be able to catch Being Elmo on October 21st. Other cities have to wait until November 4th. Maaaaan.
