Trailer: Commando – A One Man Army

I’ve mentioned before that one of the big holes in my film knowledge is movies from India. Apart from a few Satyajit Ray movies and the work I caught at the South Asian International Film Festival, I’m mostly ignorant about that country’s output. And yet for years, I’ve had Koi… Mil Gaya, Krrish, and Enthiran on a Must See list I’ve been slacking on.

Even though I don’t know Indian film that well, I can say that based on this trailer for Commando – A One Man Army there will be a lot of flipping, kicks to the face, and lucha libre-style acrobatics. Commando stars Vidyut Jamwal, who seems like a cross between ’80s Sylvester Stallone and Tony Jaa. Commando promises no CG, no stunt doubles, and no wirework, which makes the face-slamming and gravity-defying all the more impressive.

Commando – A One Man Army comes out in India in March. No word yet on international release dates, but we’ll keep you posted. Maybe the guys who run the ActionFest film festival in North Carolina can look into this for their 2013 line-up.
