I’ve really never felt very good about Conan the Barbarian getting the reboot treatment, and this trailer isn’t really doing anything to sway my opinion. Maybe it’s just the jaded side of me that has seen far too many classic movies getting poorly resurrected, but I’m getting some serious Clash of the Titans remake vibes from watching this trailer. Sure, Jason Momoa looks the part, and it’s not like Arnold Schwarzenegger set the acting bar terribly high, but it just looks so generic. This project has been kicking around for a long time, and at no point have I ever been confident that it would turn out to be anything more than disappointing.
Still, it could be worse — WWE star Triple H could be playing the title character.
