Trailer: Dear Lemon Lima,

0

Since Napoleon Dynamite came out, there’s been more than a fair share of “quirky” indie films made. One such film, Me and You and Everyone We Know, was an honest look at love, relying on honest emotions instead of quirkiness for the sake of it. One of that film’s associate producers, Suzi Yoonessi, took her talents to Alaska for her feature film debut, Dear Lemon Lima,.

The trailer, which you can see on Film School Rejects, depicts a young girl yearning for her true love’s hearts. Of course, quirky is as quirky does, as there are unicorns and awkward scenes (a little girl on the toilet? Really?). However, it’s interesting to note that it’s from a female perspective that we don’t normally see in most quirky indie films.

What do you guys think? If you listened to our special Valentine’s Day podcast, you’d know I’m into quirky girls. Dear Lemon Lima, could possibly be very cute and heartfelt… or it try too hard and not be fun at all. The official synopsis follows the break if you wanna know more. While the film debuted in 2009, it’s receiving a limited theater release on March 4, 2011.
