Trailer: Everybody Has a Plan

There are a lot of things about Viggo Mortensen that people don’t realize. For one, he used to be married to Exene Cervenka, frontwoman of the legendary LA punk band X. Mortensen has also recorded albums, is a skilled visual artist, and multilingual. He can speak fluent English, Spanish, and Danish; near-fluent Norwegian; and decent Italian, French, and Swedish. He once killed a rampaging bear with a doorknob in a tube sock, but only after exhausting all non-lethal options.

I mention those factoids because Everybody Has a Plan is a Spanish-language thriller from Argentina starring Mortensen. According to an Argentine commenter on /Film, Mortensen’s accent is perfect. Here’s a synopsis:

Everybody Has a Plan tells the story of Agustín (Mortensen), a man desperate to abandon what for him has become, after years of living in Buenos Aires, a very frustrating existence. After the death of his twin brother, Pedro, Agustín decides to start a new life, adopting the identity of his brother and returning to the mysterious region of the Delta, in the Tigre, where they lived when they were boys. However, shortly after his return, Agustín will find himself unwillingly involved in the dangerous criminal world that was a part of his brother’s life.

No domestic release for the film has been planned yet, but it recently played the Toronto International Film Festival and is out now in Spain and Argentina. Keep an eye out for this one.
