Trailer for Ben Affleck’s Live By Night tears through the prohibition era

Ben Affleck’s currently in a sort of revival. He may have take some hits in the 2000s, but it all changed in the 2010s with The Town. With a trio of successful directorial outings (Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and Argo), he’s well earned our respect and hype by now. Which is why I’m suddenly excited for Live By Night.

An adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s novel of the same name, Live By Night stars Ben Affleck as a policeman’s son in the prohibition era. When he crosses a mob boss, it leads to a story of revenge, guns, and Zoe Saldana. The cast seems great, the setting seems great, the visuals seems great, and it’s been written and directed by Affleck himself. Hopefully it’s great given the big awards push.

Live By Night releases in limited theaters later this year with a full run next January.
