Trailer for Hilary Swank’s direct to DVD film The Resident

Sigh. No, I’m not upset that the two time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank has been reduced to films that are measly direct to DVD releases, and I’m okay with Jeffrey Dean Morgan not challenging himself too much. I’m bummed because “someone secretly living in between your walls” is a classic horror plot that’s mostly disappeared since the days of early American radio and I’ve been waiting for it to make a Saw or Paranormal Activity sized comeback. After watching the trailer it’s obvious that this isn’t what I was hoping for.

I’ll still watch it on principle — and because it’ll still be far better than Saw 3D — when it comes out on DVD on March 29th, though if you live in the U.K. you can catch it in some theaters on March 11th.
