By To carry on Tom Clancy’s characters after his sad passing is a big deal, so it’s better just to get a fresh start and hope for the best. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is a reboot of the Jack Ryan series starring Chris Pine, Keira Knightly, Kevin Costner, and Kenneth Branagh (who’s also directing) that takes Jack to his earliest years as a spy as he uncovers a Russian plot to ruin the US economy.
Normally I’d be worried about generic looking spy movies (because everything Pine touches turns to bronze), but given its pedigree, I’ll wait until another trailer hits before passing judgment. The film was supposed to release Christmas Day, but it no longer seems to have a release date. I wonder what that’s all about?
